Does this sound like you… you go on Instagram to research post ideas and end up scrolling endlessly without productivity or you sit down to batch out your content for the month and you can’t figure out where to start? You aren’t alone friend. Use my Free Content Planner Template For Social Media with a video and spend less time on social media. Ready for me to show you how? Keep on reading!
This is the system I use with my very own social media clients to map out a months worth of content in a few easy steps. Grab my free Google Doc Template HERE, make a copy for yourself, then follow my step by step instructions to batch out a social media plan for the entire month, in just a matter of minutes!
How many days of the week do you want to post?
For example: You want to post 3 days per week
Now multiply that number by the total weeks in that month?
As an example: 3 posts per week x 4 weeks will give you a total of 12 posts per month.
Pick your content pillars or themes! There are a few ways you can do this, pick the themes that work best for you and your brand.
-Motivational Mondays
-Tip Tuesdays
– Wedding Wednesdays
– Throwback Thursday
-Friday Funnies
-Small Business Saturday
-Self Care Sunday
Week 1 – Maternity Content
Week 2 – Newborn Content
Week 3 – Wedding Content
Week 4 – Family Content
At this point you now know a) how many posts you need in total and b) what themes you will be using, so it is time to piece it together.
TIP: it is also helpful to note any promotions and/or holidays coming up to fill in days with those posts.
12 posts (3 per week)
Topics:
Now we know: From those 12 posts, you need:
4 motivational Quotes
4 Wedding Related posts
4 Friday Funnies
12 posts (3 per week)
Weekly Themes:
Now we know: From those 12 posts, you need:
3 Wedding Related posts
3 Maternity Related posts
3 Newborn Related posts
3 Family Related posts
At this stage you will now do one of these two things:
A) Hand off your prepared content planto your virtual assistant (aka me lol), then sit back, relax and forget about your social media. Ok, ok so you still have to engage with your followers!
or
B) You would now write the captions for each post, then pair images or create graphics for each post, upload to your favourite scheduling platform and add your hashtags.
Pro tip: You can also use social media holidays to fill in your content calendar for the month, these are fun and engaging content ideas. For a free copy of my Social Media themed holidays for each month, click here: Social Media Holidays – Master List
